The skilled Japanese artisans use the finest materials to create a line of writing instruments that look beautiful and perform flawlessly. Maki-e lacquering, a centuries-old technique in which multi-layered patterns are drawn on the barrel and cap with urushi - sap from Japanese lacquer trees. The Nippon Art Collection portrays classic Japanese ideas and beliefs using the beauty of the Hira-maki-e technique against rich black lacquer backgrounds. The design Crane and Turtle is inspired the symbolic animals which represents good fortune and longevity. These fountain pen designs are available with 14k gold nib. Stylishly merchandised, each pen comes in a traditional oriental wood gift box.
